Assassin’s Creed IV Season Pass Announced

Today Ubisoft revealed the details of the previously unannounced Assassin’s Creed IV Season Pass to the media.

Last year, AC3 released the Tyranny of King Washington as a three part Season Pass. This Pass allowed players to play an alternate U.S. history where in George Washington refuses to release his newfound power…and it was up to you to stop him! Well this DLC, even though the premise sounded pretty cool, met with some luke warm reviews. Ubisoft hopes that this Season Pass will garner more welcome attention (and $$$) and less criticism from fans.

The Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag downloadable content features additional single player missions, including ‘Freedom Cry’, a nine mission self-contained story featuring Edward Kenway’s first mate Adewale (check the trailer below) as the main dish of this DLC buffet. Freedom Cry begins 15 years after the end of Assassin’s Creed IV (spoilers!) and we find our dear friend Adewale as a trained assassin in his own right. You have no ship, no crew and shipwrecked on Saint-Domingue. Sounds like a hoot! You’ll also get the Kraken Ship pack (which will allow you to customize the Jackdaw and is exclusive to the Season Pass), additional single player missions, weapons, skins, and collectibles…not to mention even more multiplayer mayhem (aka more unlocked characters).

So, you'll greenlight this DLC and all I have to do is not show up in a sequel? Deal!

This content, unlike AC4’s multitude of exclusive DLC for pre-ordering, will be released post-launch and should start dropping content prior to March of 2014. This content will also save you 20% off as opposed to getting the content individually. Check out this killer trailer and let us know if you’re excited!
