Ok, so if you’re not excited about the new Batman Vs Superman movie that is set to come out in 2015…what’s wrong with you?!?
With the casting of Ben Affleck (hold the outrage, haters) for Batman/Bruce Wayne confirmed as well as Gal Gadot for Wonder Woman/Diana Prince set in stone there has been more than a little rumbling that this is just a Justice League movie in disguise. Well, according to rumor super-source Latino Review (how do they get all this stuff?!?) the Batman Vs Superman movie will film with a Justice League movie in a back-to-back fashion (a la The Hobbit/LotR/Pirates/Matrix) and will release in the summer of 2016. The theoretical idea is to have the characters like Prince, Barry Allen, John Jones, etc to be introduced during the course of the flick and to all show up at the end as their superhero counterparts to prevent the film from seeming to overcrowded. If that’s the case, I’m sold! That will prevent unnecessary origin stories for all of the JLA and just get down to the ass kickin’!
Of course, this is all just speculation but I will say that Latino Review has a stellar track record for this kind of thing. There has also been rumors of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson playing the John Stewart version of Green Lantern (all but cementing the disregard of the Ryan Reynolds debacle) and Lost’s Josh Holloway as Aquaman (bwaaaah?!?) not to mention Jason Mamoa as…uh, something big and scary and the Bryan Cranston/Joaquin Phoenix Lex Luthor rumors. Sheesh! There’s still a lot to speculate on, so until Warner Bros announces a presser, don’t bank on any of this. However, you can keep it locked to free4geeks for even more unsubstantiated rumors!
