Jon Hamm Now the Next Doctor Strange?

If you’ve been on the Internet in the last few days, and I’m going to go ahead and guess you have, you know that the casting of one Doctor Strange is being highly debated. We brought you a story earlier in the week concerning rumors of Johnny Depp being cast in the role. Now, according to This Is Infamous, Mad Men star and resident “guy who’s dapper as hell” (my words), Jon Hamm, has signed on to play the role.

With Hamm wrapping up his run on Mad Men very soon and nothing else rumored to be on his plate, the timing works much better than Depp, with his Pirates commitments. He also posses that classically handsome look that I think is important for Strange to posses. I know it’s not likely to play out this way, but I can’t help but imagine Jack Sparrow running around like a fool in a big red cape, and it doesn’t bode well for my excitement of that film. Hamm, on the other hand, just embodies more of what I want my Doc Strange to be, and I seems as though the powers to be at Marvel agree with me.

It should be noted that as of this writing neither Marvel nor Hamm himself have commented on these claims, and that makes all of this mostly speculation. Stay tuned for more as the casting rumors continue to churn out over the next few weeks, months, and let’s face it, years.
