Ant-Man Takes Abandoned Batman vs Superman Weekend

Last week DC and Warner Bros. made a bold move and pushed their upcoming semi-sequel to last year’s Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman (a working title of course), to May 6, 2016. That’s nearly a year out from the film’s original release date, and a date Marvel Studios has already confirmed will feature one of their films.

It turns out though, Marvel has a film or two of their own, and the abandoned date of July 17, 2015 looked quite appealing to them. And so now we all get to check out Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man a full two weeks early, as Marvel snags the now open weekend and moves from their original July 31 release.

This is the second move for Ant-Man. Marvel moved it from its original November 6, 2015 release into as emmer blockbuster spot back in October of 2012. This also moves the movie closer to Avengers: Age of  Ultron, which opens just weeks before, on May 1, 2015.

Ant-Man will be directed by Edgar Wright, and will star Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas. Stay tuned for more Ant-Man and Marvel Studios news right here on Free For All.
