Peter Jackson and CO. have released the second official trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug early this morning.
The film, which is a continuation of last years return to Middle Earth for fans of Jackson’s immense Lord of the Rings Trilogy, hits theaters in December, and leads up to the conclusion of the entire saga, The Hobbit: There and Back Again next December. This trailer is scheduled to be attached to this weekends IMAX showings of Gravity as well, but we have it here below for those like me who simply could not wait.
The trailer features a return from Orlando Bloom’s Legolas for the first time since 2003’s Return of the King, as well as some thrilling action, intricate plot set-up and eye-bleeding special effects, as well as a fantastic surprise toward the end that I’ll keep a secret for you until you’ve watched it.
Be sure to come back to Free4Geeks in December for the review of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and listen to the Free For All Podcast for even more opinions on the trailer.
