Star Wars Episode VII Gets a Release Date

After several weeks of speculation as to whether or not the first installment of J.J. Abrams Star Wars trilogy would be pushed to 2016, Disney and Lucasfilm have finally given us a solid release date. We’ll all be sitting down to watch the still untitled Star Wars Episode VII on December 18th, 2015.

“We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture,” said Alan Horn, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios.

Pre-production of the film is said to be in full swing with principal photography set to begin in the spring of next year. With a script still to be nailed down, casting to be finalized, and a name to be given, there’s certainly plenty of tantalizing news still to come, so stay tuned to Free For All, and may the force be with you!
