The Ant-Man Director Search Is Over!

It’s been a long and tumultuous search for Edgar Wright’s replacement as the director of Marvel’s Ant-Man, but that quest is officially over. Marvel officially announced that Peyton Reed, whose most notable work being Yes Man starring Jim Carrey, will be at the helm for the aforementioned film.

Also of note is the addition of Adam McKay (known for Anchorman and Talladega Nights) will be rewriting the script. The film seems to be back on track for a July 17th, 2015 release but all the chaos could be troubling. Marvel has an excellent track record in these regards, however, so I’m not too concerned. We’ll have plenty of new info on this development and others as they are released, but in the meantime check out this synopsis from the studio:

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
