The time is drawing near when we will finally be able to get our bloody hands on The Evil Within, the next game from survival horror mastermind and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. And while gamers still have to wait until late August to play the title, that doesn’t mean Bethesda and Mikami are going to sit back and allow fans to have happy, peaceful nights sleep until then. Rather, the publisher has released a new gameplay trailer that is simply chock-full of disturbing imagery and blood-covered goodies for fans to whet their whistle in anticipation, just in time for the annual PAX East super-con in Boston.
Check out the trailer here, but don’t say I never warned you, there’s plenty to get worked up over within. The Evil Within has a definitive Silent Hill and Resident Evil vibe, and follows Detective Sebastian Castellanos as he attempts to uncover the secrets behind a series of gruesome and grizzly murders which puts both Castellanos as well as his partners and fellow officers in the path of some very real danger. The game is slated to release on most current and last-gen consoles as well as PC later this year.
