Crash Bandicoot is one of those iconic video game characters that we just couldn’t seem to get enough of. Crash first hit the shelves in 1996 for the original Playstation and had three more games following the initial release. In 2000, the franchise was sold to Activision and Crash’s last appearance was in 2008. Well folks, your wait for Crash’s return may soon be over. In an interview with the Telegraph, Sony President Andrew House left open the idea that Sony would be bring Crash Bandicoot back to video game glory. He had this to say:
In concept, it is something we have been thinking about and discussing, and this is a shift for us. We’ve started to say that maybe there isn’t anything wrong with going back and looking at characters that people still talk about, that were a big part of their childhood or their youth. I definitely wouldn’t close the door on that.
I am super pumped by this news! I played all the Crash Bandicoot games on the original Playstation and thoroughly enjoyed them all! This shows us that the companies are listening to and hearing what we want and at least giving it careful consideration. So prepare yourselves wooden crates, Crash Bandicoot may just spinning and wrecking you once again!
