Over the weekend, you undoubtedly heard the news of the tragic weekend crash involving Tracy Morgan. Today, more details are coming out including the names of the others involved. James “Jimmy Mack” McNair, a mentor for Morgan, was the lone fatality. Two others in the limo, Morgan’s assistant Jeffrey Millea and comedian Ardie Fuqua Jr. are in critical condition. A fourth occupant was treated and released.
As for Tracy Morgan himself, the actor/comedian has undergone multiple surgeries to attempt to save one of his legs. Other injuries include a broken femur, broken nose, and several broken ribs. The actor is expected to recover, but will remain hospitalized for several weeks.
As for the truck driver that caused the crash, Kevin Roper, from Jonesboro, GA, was charged with four counts of assault by auto and a single count of death by auto. This after authorities discovered that he had not slept for more than 24 hours prior to the crash. Roper has turned himself in to police and has been released on bond. A total of six vehicles were involved, but only those in the limo suffered any injuries.
