X-Men, at least in the circles we run in around here, is the talk of the town right now, with X-Men: Days of Future Past making a serious splash on the X-men film landscape and pulling in an estimated $90 million domestically this weekend. Also noteworthy was the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 just four weekends ago (which Josh Barnett enjoyed), which has brought in an estimated $185 million domestically to date.
Now off of the big screen and onto the pages these blockbusters originated on, there is news of the newest Spider-Man, Miles Morales, joining the All-New X-Men in the upcoming issue #32. Miles has crossed out of his own series, Ultimate Comics Spier-Man, and the Ultimate universe, and into other within Marvel, many times. Two years ago he crossed over and met the OG Spidey, Peter Parker, in the limited series Spider-Men. Then again in Cataclysm last year, and will be again soon in the recently announced Spider-Verse.
Yesterday, May 24, the creator of Miles Morales (also writer for Ultimate Spider-Man, Daredevil, Avengers, House of M, and All-New X-Men), Brian Michael Bendis, posted the preview of the thirty-second cover of All-New X-Men on his Tumblr.
The cover pays clear homage to issue #139 of The Uncanny X-Men, the issue where Kitty Pride aka Sprite aka Shadowcat joined the X-Men. There is no word as to if the is will be more of a team-up or if Morales will become a permanent X-Man, but either way, this should be an awesome crossover, whether you’re a fan of Spidey, X-Men, or (like me) both.
