The first things that the April update corrects is the notifications of friends and followers that sign in to Xbox Live. This was reportedly one of the most requested changes to the new console and a very welcomed addition. Also, friends who are in multiplayer will be identified in your friends list. Also, the update adds a game save progress bar that will allow you to see the status of your saved games. I personally like the ability to see what apps and games are currently being updated or have been updated recently which is also being changed.
There are also fine tunings to GameDVR quality as well as further Kinect voice and motion detection. Also, you will be able to play back Blu-ray content at 50hz that was recorded at 50hz (duh!). And lastly, the update will tweak the controller and headset adapter firmware. All of these changes will begin rolling out this week to your Xbox One.
These changes seem like little, tiny changes but if it improves the overall enjoyment of the system then I’m all in. There are still some things that need to be fixed but I am supremely confident that any needed adjustments will be addressed and corrected by the suits at Microsoft.
